There’s 7 to collect and if you collect all 7 you’ll be presented with a special headband. You also can’t win an award 2 months running so it’ll take over a year to earn them all.
The instructor & helper team are consulted every month and nominations can come from any student, so if you’d like to nominate a student for an award, speak to one of the Instructor team.

Gareth
Gareth was nominated by a couple of people previously but wasn’t around at the time, so he’s finally getting it now. Gareth is always courteous in and out of the dojang.

Perseverance
George W (Dragons)
We are so proud of George. Learning new things can be scary and sometimes we can be afraid of making mistakes, but mistakes are an essential part of our journey. George keeps practicing and is improving every week.
Self-Control
Layton
Sometimes Layton can find it hard to focus on the activity we’re doing, but he has been trying really hard to work on this and has made real improvements. Well done Layton – let’s get you ready for your next belt!
Courage
Olivia
From week 1 we’ve been amazed with this student. She literally brightens up our week and is a delight to teach. Olivia is a real natural too, picking everything up very quickly. She’s had a few bumps in class, but gets back up again and gets right back to it with a big smile.
Erin
Starting a new club can be super scary and very difficult for some students. Erin has been so brave stepping outside of her comfort zone and is doing great.
Community
Mikey
As many of you will be aware, Mikey is organising a Unity Pokemon TCG tournament at the centre in Half-term. He also helps at gradings, Sandroyd classes and typically 2 junior classes a week. He’s also doing the Instructor Training programme with BMABA. He’s a core part of our community and I think he’ll make an exceptional instructor too.
